Reza Shahpori is a world known leader in Critical Care Informatics. He is leading the clinical informatics at the Alberta Critical Care Network and the Department of Critical Care Medicine, Calgary, Canada, where he masterminded the evolutionary development of one the world’s most sophisticated and successful clinical information management frameworks.
He has a Master degree in Health Informatics, a Bachelor degree in Information Systems, a Bachelor degree in Radiological Sciences and several professional certifications in project management, data modeling and data warehouse architecture.

 

He is the winner of the 2008 Canada’s Health Informatics award for Innovation in the Adoption of Health Informatics. His publications in clinical and informatics journals and his presentations in conferences around the globe are mostly focused on promoting the use of data and information for improved communication in patient care, decision making, quality improvement, research and education. He is the founder and the chair of the Critical Care Informatics working group of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA).

His interest in the application of health informatics for enhancement of quality of care in Middle East has brought him back to the clinical and health informatics conferences in this region such as in United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Iran.
